How to be a good trainer

Filed under: Uncategorized — by ziera @ 11:52 am

My company send me for a 3days course in the beautiful Palace of Golden Horses earlier this week. Although it was an exhausting experiences, I gained a lot of knowledge especially in soft-skills. Right now I feel fully motivated and my brain couldn’t stop generating ideas. I’m trying to catch up with my life to live to the fullest as what my Master Trainer told me in the class, “Why do yo want to earn RM100,000 yearly when you can gain RM100,000 every month?” Nice isn’t it? So deep. Now I’m trying to figure out how to actually gain some more money. I believe I have the knowledge and experience, just have to find the opportunity. Hopefully my determinationĀ  will stay as long as I can.

Work…work…work…

Finally I've figured out that this blog is my monthly journal, not daily, not weekly. I guess you can figure out from the dates that I posted my blog. I just couldn't find anything interesting to post.

Right now I'm listing down all the updates I need to do with my system. Since the system has been up and running for most of the modules, I've been so unproductive in the last few weeks.I have to start updating the system so that it can be fully functional by the time the new intake has come. I will also be busy checking thousands of student results to produce offer letters.

Finally…from php to Excel

Filed under: Work — by ziera @ 5:15 pm

Finally..I managed to export my reports from php to Microsoft Excel. It is actually very easy. After looking for sample scripts and downloading sample classes yesterday, the solution is just to add header in the scripts. Thanks to http://www.php.net .my. You’ve made my day! Now I can continue working on updating the Fee Structures. As my accountant said before, once I have finished on the Collection Module, we can sell the system to other colleges who needs an online student records solution. Anybody interested? Right now I’m thinking of offering a Online Registration Forms to any company interested, especially here in Kuantan. I believed this state needs an uplift in the IT awareness. Especially the government sectors. Just imagine that I cannot pay my water bills online because the system is not integrated. I even cannot pay the bill in KL because the system is not linked to the BSN. How frustrating šŸ˜¦

Customer is always right…Right?

How to treat a Rude Customer

An award should go to the gate attendant at Luqa airport. A crowded Malta-London flight was cancelled. She was the lone attendant in charge of re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket
down on the counter and said, “I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS”.

The attendant replied, “I’m sorry sir. I’ll be happy to try to help you, but
I’ve got to help these people first, and I’m sure we’ll be able to work
something out.” The passenge! r was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so
that the passengers behind him could hear, “DO YOU HAVE ANY
IDEA WHO I AM?”

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address
microphone: May I have your attention please? May I have your attention
please?” she began. With her voice being heard clearly throughout the
terminal, she said, “We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES
NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity,
please come to Gate 14.”

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at
the attendant, gritted his teeth and said, “F… You!” Without flinching,
she smiled and said, “I’m sorry, sir, but you’ll have to get in line for
that too.”

Aaaargh…headache…

Filed under: Work — by ziera @ 12:35 pm

Staff problem…My headache is coming back. I have this staff, the only system administrator in the college. Good guy..but with so much attitude problem. Always MIA. Since he is the only SA, we have to wait for him to show up, to get some things done. I’m not used to scolding people and I can’t handle people hating me. This is why my headache is gping toĀ  hard to go away.

This is one of the reason that make me want to quit my job and do online business. Already bought a book on Secrets on How to be an Internet Millionaire. Or another option: just quit being in this Manager position and concentrate on doing developments. With my 5 years experience in developing Student Information System in 2 IPTS, I hope somebody would offer me a better position, with better salary and hopefully with less headaches…

I have a nice poster of Mawi, the Malaysian hearthrob. Coming to my college on February 15 2006.

mawi

I’m not his biggest fan but it’s nice to brag about it. Hopefully this college will have enough space to accomodate people coming here just to see him.

Welcome

Hello! My next attempt to start blogging. Hopefully I’ll stick to this one. It’s important for me to start recording my life and all the things I gathered everyday so nothing will be missed out. I’ll start blogging for my work, my family, and other things. It may not be a very interesting one for others but I hope it will be good enough for me.
